Mattco Quick Change Hub Install Instructions
1. Your Quick Change Hub will come as shown on the right with the pulley installed on the picker hub. The pulley should always be checked once conversion of hubs is complete to make sure it is tightened BEFORE running the picker). If ordering a complete hub the front plate conversion package (our patented 2-plate system) will be installed. Before beginning you will need to remove these plates so that it looks like the picture on the right.
2. Place the Quick Change Hub on the picker wall and place an isolator plate (shown here) on the finger side and align holes.
3. Use 4 – 5/16 Bolts and Lock Washers to secure the Quick Change Hub to the picker wall. Start each bolt by hand and tighten down using an impact driver. Do not hammer excessively.
4. Install water slinger on finger side and make sure to press this all the way down against the isolator plate as seen on the right.
5. Place back plate on hub shaft as shown.
6. Secure back plate with retaining ring.
7. Install Picking Fingers designed for the Quick Change hub (i.e Janet, Carolyn, Noa) into the finger plate. Make sure to pull fingers all the way through. Pliers are not needed to pull through. This can be done by hand. Use 1 – 12mm Bolt (For AA Hubs) or 1 – ½” Bolt and Lock Washer to secure the finger plate to the hub shaft. Make sure the finger plate is aligned properly so that it seats completely flush to hub shaft. Start each finger plate bolt by hand to make sure you do not cross thread. Snug the finger plate bolt using an impact driver. Do not hammer excessively.
Once all of the Quick Change Hubs and fingers are installed, check the pullies to make sure they are tightened.

Mattco recommends that you use 2 picker belts for each bank.
NOTE: When doing finger changes knives are not necessary for removal. Fingers can pushed out by hand.
